*• La nueva sede estará ubicada en el Parque Empresarial la Ceiba en Orotina, una zona franca de uso mixto para las industrias de manufactura, logística, servicios y tecnología.*

**3 de agosto, 2020.** La compañía costarricense de componentes para dispositivos médicos, Electroplast, expandirá su operación a partir del segundo trimestre de 2021. En la actualidad, la operación está ubicada en Santo Domingo de Heredia y la semana pasada confirmó su traslado al Parque Industrial La Ceiba, en Orotina.

 Electroplast invertirá más de US$9 millones en el acondicionamiento, la ampliación de la nave industrial y el traslado de la operación, que llegará a ocupar un espacio de 8.000 metros cuadrados.

 Con 35 años de experiencia en el mercado, esta empresa costarricense provee piezas de alta calidad a la industria de ciencias de la salud que es el sector de la economía nacional con mayor dinamismo. “En Electroplast sabemos que este esfuerzo refleja el compromiso de mejora continua que tenemos con nuestros clientes y a la vez, nos permite ofrecer nuevas oportunidades de empleo para la región”, resaltó Diego Vicente, gerente general de Electroplast.

 Esta importante transacción fue coordinada por la consultora de servicios inmobiliarios Cushman andamp; Wakefield | AB Advisory, por medio de su departamento de Servicios Logísticos e Industriales. Bernal Rodríguez, resaltó que los inmuebles en los que se encuentran las industrias de zona franca, además de generar empleos, encadenamientos y exportaciones, representan transacciones de miles de metros cuadrados, las cuales son clave para la dinamización de la economía.

 “En los últimos años, los parques industriales han tendido a ubicarse fuera del GAM. Esto ha permitido a las empresas aprovechar los beneficios fiscales adicionales que ofrece la Ley de Zona Francas del país. En este caso en particular, además, el Parque Industrial La Ceiba está ubicado frente a la Ruta 27, a menos de una hora del aeropuerto Juan Santamaría”, afirmó Rodríguez.

 La expansión generará 150 empleos directos para ingenieros, técnicos y operarios. Si bien el proceso de contratación iniciará en el 2021, los interesados pueden enviar sus calificaciones al correo empleo@electroplast.com
